• Introducing the Solr ScriptUpdateProcessor

Earlier this year joined forces with a great group of developers, to create the Dutch Web Alliance. You can read all about it here: www.dutchweballiance.nl

I’ve recently published an article on the DWA blog about the Solr ScriptUpdateProcessor.
The ScriptUpdateProcessors enables custom update processing code to be written in several scripting languages (Javascript, Ruby, Groovy or Python). In the script you have access to several Solr objects, allowing you for instance to modify a document before it’s indexed by Solr or to add some lines to the Solr log.

It can be a very useful feature to centralize some logic when using multiple clients, or to modify requests when you have no control over all clients.

You  can read all about it, including some examples, on the DWA blog
